3D Relief Color Wheel

Today we started our first project which is a 3D Relief Color Wheel. Students will be using exploring the elements and principles of design: symmetrical balance, color, space, and rhythm (select one of the five types we have studied).

Students are given the primary colors and then are asked to demonstrate how to mix secondary and tertiary colors.

Students are also asked to think of a motif and then a type of rhythm that they wish to express in their project. The various patterns should create symmetry and unity as the piece builds up in relief from the support.

Students creating their supports which will then be used to create four levels of relief.

Painting the support black to create emphasis when the students add their relief patterns.
