Color Mixing Motif Project and Coil Mugs

Today we graded our color mixing projects. These projects looked at mixing secondary and tertiary colors. It also included the elements and principles of design. Students created unique shapes that were to include a motif of bugs or animals. The idea was to create a new creature.

The motif was to create rhythm, unity, balance, space, and color. Students have been learning the elements and principles of design and these concepts were to be shown in their work.

We also started our discussion on pottery, focusing on a hand building technique of coiling.

Students helped to recycle clay to get ready for a busy day of work on Wednesday.

Students also developed two unique designs using the coiling technique. The designs also included some type of base or foot design.
